Black history month allows us educate ourselves and reflect and celebrate the achievements of black people across the world. For me it’s a time to celebrate all that we have overcome, to reflect on our true history, it’s a time to plan for our future community and a time to be seen and heard.
In the words of Nina Simone “Young, gifted and black we must begin to tell our young there’s a world waiting for you, this is a quest that’s just begun”
Being a member of the DTS Service desk has been amazing, being able to work with such a diverse team from different cultures has really enabled and encouraged a broader range of perspectives, beliefs and ideas to be leveraged.
I would like to thank Laura Dawson for nominating me, to know that I have been inspiration to some is a privilege.
It’s so wonderful to see the LSE celebrating their BAME members, a community forgotten by the world for so long.
