LSE’s LGBTQ+ Role Models page highlights the students, staff, and alumni and LSE collaborators, who have made a positive impact through their activism, community work and innovation to help strengthen LGBTQ+ visibility across the School.
This page is a space to honour their stories and to help LGBTQ+ students and colleagues see themselves reflected in the LSE community and an opportunity to connect with the role models.

How to Contact a Role Model
LSE’s LGBTQ+ role models are generously offering their time and experience. To ensure respectful and meaningful engagement, please keep in mind:
✔️Do:
- Read their profile before reaching out
- Be clear about why you’re contacting them, bearing in mind the areas of advice they are happy to help with (under 'More about...' drop-downs)
- Ask specific questions related to study, careers, or lived experience (see the prompts we have included below)
- Respect their boundaries and availability as well as the form of communication they have set as a preference
❌Don't:
- Treat role models as formal mentors
- Ask for personal details they haven’t shared publicly
- Expect immediate replies or in‑depth ongoing support
- Contact them about sensitive issues that should be directed to professional support services
- Please note: This is not a mentorship programme but it is a valuable opportunity to learn from others’ experiences.
