Campus Relations Innovation Fund: 2026

Do you have an idea that can help us build positive campus relations at LSE?

This is an opportunity to share your vision for strengthening the community for thousands of LSE students at LSE.

The Campus Relations Innovation Fund (CRIF) was established to support student-led initiatives that:

  • Foster dialogue and understanding across LSE's 140+ nationalities
  • Build meaningful connections between different student groups
  • Address campus challenges around divides and feelings of disconnection
  • Create engaging opportunities for cross-cultural exchange

It is one of LSE’s campus relations efforts to strengthen connections across students from different backgrounds.

This year, we are inviting students to pitch their ideas to a panel. The deadline to submit their expression of interest in doing this is 13 February 2026.

The selected projects will be delivered by the Campus Relations team with their input and guidance. This allows students with winning pitches to shape the project without the pressure of delivery.

Why should you pitch?

This is an opportunity to share your vision for strengthening the community for thousands of LSE students at LSE.

In addition, if your idea is selected, you will receive:

  • An opportunity to see their ideas implemented with dedicated resources managed by the Campus Relations team
  • £50 shopping voucher
  • Paid consultancy: Up to 5 hours at £15/hour (£75 potential earnings) to advise on your project as it comes to life
  • Recognition: Feature in LSE Newsletters and LSE LinkedIn, and a certificate recognising your win and contribution to positive campus relations at LSE

All participants receive:

  • A certificate of participation
  • LSE-branded merch

What are we looking for?

Your idea should:

  • Address real campus relations needs: Does it genuinely help students from different backgrounds connect or understand each other better?
  • Appeal to students: Will people actually participate? Is it realistic, given academic pressures?
  • Create lasting impact and be scalable: How many students will benefit? What change will it create?
  • Offer something fresh: Is this a new angle or creative approach?
  • Understand what motivates LSE students to participate

FAQs

Do I need a fully developed plan?

No! We want your creative, but realistic idea and vision. If selected, our team will handle the detailed planning, logistics and delivery.

Can I pitch as a group or society?

Yes! Groups and societies are welcome. Just ensure all participants’ details are included in the sign-up form.

What if my idea needs more than the budget allows?

Pitch it anyway. We can discuss scope adjustments if your concept is strong.

I'm not confident in public speaking. Should I still apply?

Yes. This is a supportive environment, and we value your idea more than presentation polish.

Do I need to be available to run the project?

No. If selected, you will serve as a paid consultant (up to 5 hours), giving input while our Campus Relations Officer manages delivery.
