4. Community engagement

Our work on community engagement:

  • Increase alumni engagement through collaboration with the LGBTQ+ Alumni Network and Spectrum Staff Network.
  • Increasing cross-collaboration between the School, Spectrum Staff Network and the Students' Union.
  • Launched The Hall-Carpenter Room in 2023, with a series of events for marginalised communities at LSE, and a celebration and exhibition of the Hall-Carpenter Archive: the largest collection of gay activist history in the UK.
  • Celebration and marking of LGBTQ+ History Month and Pride events.

Outcomes and impact:

  • Ensuring long-term connection of LGBTQ+ students and alumni with LSE community on an ongoing basis.
  • Collaborative planning of Pride events and LGBT+ History Month; and regular communication and consultation on LGBTQ+ initiatives, such as a joint conference organised by Spectrum and EmbRace to be held in Summer 2025.
  • Increase in community-led activities and cross-network collaborations.
  • Increased collaboration and engagement across teams and groups regarding LGBTQ+ inclusion.
