Our work on policies and practices:
Reviewing the
Trans Inclusion Policy

identifying areas for improvement and developing appropriate guidance to support translation of policy to practice.
Reviewing policy and practices on changing names and pronouns at LSE for staff, students and alumni; and implementing improvements to ensure these processes are more efficient.
Ensuring inclusive categorisation in staff and student surveys and data collection, aligned with national data and
HESA
requirements.
Reviewing and updating recruitment and development policies and guidance; ensuring that the recruitment toolkit for managers covers all protected characteristics.
Reviewing our policies, processes and procedures to ensure comprehensive focus on all protected characteristics.
Outcomes and impact:
Clear guidelines on trans inclusion practices for trans students and staff, as well as for those supporting trans students and staff.
Accurate and inclusive representation of the LGBTQ+ community at LSE in data records.
Managers improve their understanding of best practice in inclusive recruitment practices.
Improvement of the experience of trans, non-binary and gender non-confoming students and staff.
Improved guidance and clarity on safeguarding issues for all protected characteristics.
