Education awards

Each year, four categories of awards are presented to those who make outstanding contributions to the education of LSE students. These awards reflect the School’s commitment to recognising and rewarding the dedication, innovation and scholarship of its very best teachers.

LSE Class Teacher Awards

Nominees for these awards are selected by Heads of Department from amongst Graduate Teaching Assistants, Teaching Fellows and Guest Lecturers to highlight excellent teaching practice and dedication to student learning amongst these staff.

Winners are invited to a celebratory ceremony, usually held in the Students' Union in Summer Term. Here is a list of the most recent winners.

LSE Excellence in Education Awards

Nominees for these awards are faculty identified by Heads of Department as having shown outstanding teaching contribution and educational leadership in their departments. 

Winners are invited to an evening reception in Michaelmas Term. Here is a list of the most recent winners.

LSE Excellence in Education Promotion Prizes

Nominees for these awards are faculty making a significant educational contribution to LSE, and as a result promoted to Professor and (via Major Review) Associate Professor.

LSESU Teaching Awards

Nominees for these awards are selected by students.These awards are presented to teachers who have made a real impact on students, whether through excellent feedback, pastoral support, knowledge sharing or sheer inspiration.
