The LSE annual GTA induction is compulsory for all GTAs new to teaching at the School. We hope that these workshops are both an illuminating and enjoyable experience for all our participants. Our feedback from the 2016-17 programme supports this aim: with 95% of almost 200 GTAs who participated in 2016-17 sharing their thoughts and feedback on the programme with us, and 99% of those rating the experience positively.
The induction is made up of four sessions which cover:
- Teaching at the LSE
- Feedback and assessment
- Effective classroom teaching
- Reviewing your teaching year
The programme runs across three weeks at the beginning of the academic year and one week in November. The dates for 2017-18 are:
- Tuesday 19 September – Friday 6 October
- Monday 20 November – Friday 24 November
The Teaching and Learning Centre will send invitations to new GTAs over the course of the summer.
GTAs who join LSE after the Michaelmas Term Induction has taken place will be invited to a catch-up session that is usually held early in LT0 before the start of Lent term teaching.
