Making yourself look good on paper doesn’t have to be a chore. There are a number of ways to get new skills while studying at LSE – all while having fun!
We’ve spoken to people involved in three great services at LSE which can help you boost your skills and help your CV stand out from the crowd...
“Your own language is not enough! It's really important that you learn to speak and understand other people no matter where they are from. In terms of your CV an additional language means you will stand out from the crowd and gives you better options for the future. Learning or improving a language whilst at LSE can also be a welcome distraction from your core courses and it is the perfect way to meet new people and discover new cultures.”
– John Heyworth, Manager, LSE Language Centre
“Volunteering has been key to my personal development whilst at LSE. I just love listening to other people, and realising just how incredible LSE students are. Over my time volunteering as a Peer Supporter, I have truly begun to understand that just listening is such an immensely important gift you can give to someone - it can really determine their next steps to success. The Volunteer Centre has been instrumental to my confidence and development in volunteering. They have always been there with loads of advice!”
– Chloe Russell, BSc Government student, LSE
