Six reasons to get involved in shaping the future of LSE

What is the Shaping the Future of LSE consultation?

The Shaping the Future of LSE consultation is a conversation about the direction LSE should go in and a chance to set out a path for the future of LSE to 2030. All students, staff, alumni and friends of LSE are invited to join the conversation!

This is your opportunity to have your say in the future of LSE. We have some questions we need to answer which will inform the decisions taken now to shape the LSE of tomorrow.

There will also be a Town Hall event on Monday 21 May from 12.45 - 2pm in the Sheikh Zayed Theatre (NAB) which will give you a chance to ask questions about the consultation to Minouche and her team.

Why should I get involved?

  1. 1. You can help decide what LSE's founding purpose should be

LSE was founded in 1895 to know the causes of things and for the betterment of society. It's up to you to decide if this purpose still holds true today!

  2. 2. This is your chance to voice what you think an LSE education should be

LSE teaches nearly 12,000 students from 133 countries across the social sciences. It is important that we don’t stand still and that we ask ourselves fundamental questions about what outcomes we want for LSE students. How should we evolve to enable those and to meet the needs of the future?

  3. 3. You can help choose what kind of research LSE should do next

Today, LSE is highly regarded for its world-leading social science research.
However, we need to consider the social challenges of the future and whether our research is focussed on addressing them. Do we need to adjust to meet them? If so, how?

  4. 4. You can decide how you want to be engaged with after you graduate

LSE’s 142,000 alumni span across 200 countries and their relationship with the School is lifelong - one day you'll be one of them! How do you think LSE should  continue to meaningfully engage with alumni after they graduate?

  5. 5. You can voice your opinion about how we should advance our global reputation

We want to hear from you how you think we should enhance our global reputation and the international impact of LSE’s research and teaching. Whether it is through developing an overseas presence or evolving our curriculum to better reflect the world of today and the future.

  6. 6. And finally, is there something missing?

What else would you like to bring to the table for the purpose of Shaping the Future of LSE? This is your chance to make your voice heard and shape LSE the way you think it should be!
