This two-part workshop is a personal development opportunity to help new students explore how they feel about conflict and how they might engage with it more constructively. In times of cultural polarisation and escalating international tensions, none of us can avoid the inevitability of conflict. This is particularly true in a university community which gathers people of different identities and worldviews. The workshop seeks to develop skills for dialogue and conflict transformation to help prepare students for their university experience and their lives beyond. Run by the Faith Centre team, the workshop offers some of the core skills from the Beecken Faith and Leadership programme. It is grounded in the Faith Centre’s work in religion-related conflict but will be relevant to all kinds of entrenched and ongoing disagreements.
Participants need to be aware that this workshop is designed to be a challenging learning opportunity. It is not intended to provide pastoral or psychological support to those impacted by conflict.
This course is designed for students who are new to LSE.
The workshops take place on:
- Wednesday 9th October 2024, 2:00pm - 4:00pm
- Wednesday 16th October 2024, 2:00pm - 4:00pm
It is vital that participants join both workshops so please do not apply if you cannot commit to these two dates.
How to join
We will be in touch before Wednesday 9th October to confirm if you have secured a space. We envision this will be a highly subscribed workshop so we cannot guarantee that everyone who applies will be successful.
