Engaging with LSE students and graduates

LSE Careers is the School’s specialist careers service, connecting employers with a diverse community of talented students and alumni.

Our Employer Engagement team provides tailored support to help organisations raise their profile, promote opportunities, and build meaningful connections through events, skills sessions, and work‑based learning initiatives.

If you are interested in collaborating with us through any of the below routes, please register for an account with us, or get in touch.

How LSE Careers can support you

Promote your vacancies, schemes and events

Post your vacancies, schemes and events on our digital platform free of charge – making them visible to LSE’s almost 12,000 strong student population and our even larger global alumni network.

  • Post jobs on our vacancy board: Our online vacancy board is an effective way to advertise part-time jobs, internships, graduate opportunities, and experienced hire roles.

  • Add your off-campus events to our listings: Upload the details of your off-campus event and we’ll advertise it to our students and recent graduates for free on our events board.

Targeted emails

Our targeted email service is an efficient way of promoting your vacancies to a specific cohort of students or alumni, allowing you to reach the most relevant audience directly. You can select from criteria including subject, study level, graduation year, and nationality.

Cost: From £60 + VAT (per 250 students).

Careers fairs

Our sector-specific careers fairs are a great way to raise the profile of your organisation. These events provide an effective way to engage with a cross-section of our student and graduate population in a short timeframe.

Employer recruitment and networking events

These more focussed events are for organisations that are looking to attract and hire high calibre graduates. The sessions are themed by sector and specialism, allowing you to engage with LSE students and graduates who match a more specific profile.

Presentations

We offer employers the opportunity to host on-campus and online events for LSE students and graduates. Our packages come with a suite of online marketing and advertising services, and our Employer Engagement team will advise you on how to deliver a successful event to your target audience.

International events and support with international hiring

Around 70% of LSE students are from outside the UK. If your organisation is based in another country, or you’re hiring for an international office, we can connect you with top talent.

LSE Careers also hosts several international flagship events to connect students and alumni with employers and career opportunities in specific countries:

  • Careers in China programme and careers fairs: Our Careers in China programme runs throughout the year and offers employers a variety of opportunities to engage with students seeking careers in mainland China and Hong Kong. Each August we hold a series of events in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, including recruitment fairs, employer panels, and office visits. The programme is a partnership between seven of the world’s leading universities – driven by the London School of Economics and Political Science and Imperial College London, King’s College London, and supported by Cornell University, the University of Cambridge, the University of Chicago and University College London.

  • Careers in Brussels programme: Held in collaboration with Sciences Po, Paris and the College of Europe, Bruges, our in-country Brussels fair offers organisations a unique opportunity to connect with high-calibre students and graduates, exploring careers in Brussels. The programme also offers organisations an opportunity to deliver presentations and skills seminars, and to host students in their Brussels offices.

  • Discover International Organisations Day: Held in November, this day-long event at LSE’s London campus provides intergovernmental and multilateral organisations a high-profile opportunity to showcase their work and roles, featuring a careers fair, alongside a programme of in-person presentations and panel discussions.

Skills seminars

Our industry-led skills seminar programme offers organisations the opportunity to support LSE students to develop their understanding of different sectors and roles in practice, through the application of their academic studies in an industry context. Sessions can take the form of interactive case studies, group activities and hackathons, and technical workshops, either on campus or virtually.

Internship programmes

Internships, placements and work-based learning experiences are a powerful way to engage with LSE students while building a strong pipeline of future talent. Whether you're offering short-term projects or structured programmes, our team can help you design and promote opportunities that deliver real value for your organisation and for students eager to apply their skills in a professional setting.

To learn more, get in touch with the internships team

Our internship programmes include:

  • Summer Internship Programme: a flexible way to host LSE undergraduates and recent graduates with limited professional experience on short-term opportunities, helping them to build key skills, explore career pathways and contribute effectively.

  • International internships: If you have offices outside the UK which offer internships or short‑term project work, we can provide a comprehensive, tailored recruitment service. Support can include shaping project briefs, structuring roles, promoting opportunities, managing applications, and providing in‑work support for any students that you hire.

  • Mitchell Family Internship Programme

  • Internship Fund Scheme

Projects and experiential challenges

Our hackathons and challenge-based activities offer a dynamic way to connect with students by setting real-world challenges. These collaborative experiences foster creativity, innovation and cross-disciplinary thinking, while raising your profile among engaged and motivated participants.

Industry placements

BSc Actuarial Science students can bring fresh insights and data-driven problem-solving to your team. We are seeking employers who can provide a nine-month (minimum) paid industrial placement, enabling future actuarial professionals to gain respected workplace experience while enabling your organisation to gain fresh perspectives and additional capacity.
