PowerPoint Creation to Presentation Workshop Series

The PowerPoint Creation to Presentation workshops are designed to give you a good working knowledge of the core functionalities in PowerPoint, including how to set up a Slide Master, use AI-driven Designer, create links with Excel to automatically update tables and charts in your slides, apply animations, align and position multiple elements with ease, create handouts, and features that help you prepare and deliver effective and interactive presentations.

Each workshop is two-hour long, and you will work with fellow learners, utilising your prior experience, web searches, and in-application Help features to find the solutions to real-world problems, with a PowerPoint expert on hand if you get stuck.

You can choose which skill set you work on from the list below.

  • PowerPoint 1: Designing Slides

PowerPoint 1 is suited to anyone who would like to make clean and professional presentations. You will learn how to use the Slide Master and PowerPoint themes to make cohesive presentations and use appropriate illustration tools to improve the visualisation and readability of slides.

  • PowerPoint 2: Formatting Slides

In this workshop, you will build on what you have learned in PowerPoint 1. You will learn to link across Excel and PowerPoint to automatically update tables and charts content, align and position multiple elements (images and text boxes) on a slide, and edit images and text in various ways.

  • PowerPoint 3: Professional Slides

This workshop is for anyone who would like to improve their presentation skills. You will learn to use notes and comments in a presentation, apply animations and input audio, create handouts for your audience, and practice pitching your presentation in an effective and interactive way.

These workshops allow you to choose your own PowerPoint learning journey, so you can start at the level that is right for you. Whether you are new to PowerPoint or just want a refresher, you can attend as few or as many sessions you feel you need. We do recommend completing all three skill sets if time permits, as they form a good foundation for best practice and teach the core PowerPoint skills necessary to continue expanding your expertise in PowerPoint.
