How to use the Learning Lab
Getting started is simple. Book a one-to-one consultation for personalised support, book onto our workshops for targeted skills development, or access our comprehensive online resources on Moodle anytime. We've designed our offer to fit around your schedule, but come to us early in your assignment process rather than waiting until you're stuck. Think of us as your academic gym: regular visits will build your confidence and skills over time.
Workshops in the Learning Lab
We have a full programme of workshops to help you develop the key skills you'll need to succeed at LSE. Most of our workshops are available both online and on campus.
These interactive group sessions focus on essential academic skills. Our workshops include essay writing, time-management strategies, and techniques to read more effectively. Each session combines practical exercises with peer discussion, so you'll learn alongside fellow students from a variety of different disciplines. Workshops are scheduled throughout term, and before assessment periods – perfect for building skills when you need them most. Check our Events page and book your spot.
One-to-ones
Our team of experienced Study Advisers provide one-to-one sessions throughout the year - including over the summer break! They can work with you on essay structure, argument development, research techniques, exam preparation, or any other academic challenge you're facing. Bring your essay plans, assignment briefs, or just your questions – they'll meet you wherever you are in your academic journey. 30-minute appointments can be booked via Student Hub and are available Monday-Friday, 10am - 6pm (London Time). We offer sessions online, via Microsoft Teams, and on campus in LSE LIFE Workspace 1, on the ground floor of the Library.
Check out our one-to-one webpage for more details about how a Learning Lab Study Adviser can help you.
