Everyone contributing to the Student Idea Showcase will be asked to agree to these terms and conditions on their submission forms. Please read them carefully in advance.
Copyright
All entrants must be the principal creator(s) of work(s) submitted and as such will retain copyright in the work(s) as author/presenter. All entrants agree to assign to LSE a non-exclusive licence to use, share, reproduce and publish the submitted work(s) under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence and to edit, convert to other formats, create derivatives, and store any content that relates to the entry as may be required for publishing under said licence.
Use, reproduction and publication could include, but not necessarily be limited to, exhibition, ‘live’ and via the LSE website, social media, YouTube and internal channels.
All entrants whose work(s) submitted to Student Idea Showcase include(s) any material which is the intellectual property, including copyright, of another party, must seek and secure the necessary permissions for their inclusion, and ensure that these permissions are compatible with Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence under which LSE intends to publish the submitted work(s).
Data protection
All entrants consent to the use of their personal data being processed for the purposes of the Student Idea Showcase and subsequent publishing. Entrants’ personal data will be processed in accordance with the provisions of Data Protection legislation.
Publicity
All contributors consent to their involvement in appropriate publicity for the Student Idea Showcase.
Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence
The copyright holder in all works submitted to the Student Idea Showcase agrees to the limited transfer of rights to LSE in order that LSE can use, store and publish the works under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike licence, which has the following restrictions:
Attribution – Users must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Users may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
ShareAlike — If users remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original. With the understanding that:
Waiver — Any of the above conditions can be waived if the user secures permission from the copyright holder(s).
Public domain — Where the work or any of its elements is in the public domain under applicable law, that status is in no way affected by the licence.
Other rights
In no way are any of the following rights affected by this licence:
- The user’s fair dealing or fair use of rights, or other applicable copyright exceptions and limitations
- the author's moral rights
- rights other persons may have either in the work itself or in how the work is used, such as publicity or privacy rights.
Notice
