As part of LSE’s ongoing Educate for Global Impact work, we’re excited to be launching Akari, the new Curriculum Management System replacing legacy CAPIS and REG systems.
Log on to Akari here.
Our new Akari system is designed to streamline curriculum planning, allow for effective course and programme management, and enhance staff and student engagement.
Key Features:
User-friendly interface: Navigate effortlessly throughout the system.
Curriculum mapping: Align your courses with learning objectives and standards.
Master data source: Acts as the authoritative source for all course and programme information
Real-time collaboration: Work together with colleagues in real-time.
We are currently in Phase one of delivery since going live with the new Akari system on 26th September 2024.
This means that any departments who need to submit new programmes or compulsory/core courses for 2026/27 onwards, should use Akari, instead of CAPIS, to enter the relevant information and submit proposals.
Please see the courses and programmes page(s) for further information.
New programmes or compulsory/core courses must be submitted using Akari by:
Undergraduate: 30th October 2024, for consideration at the November USSC
Postgraduate: 9th December 2024, for consideration at the January GSSC
We are now preparing for Phase two, which will enable departments to perform their annual course guide reviews using Akari from February 2025.
Guidance materials and training will be provided for all Departments/Centres as well as drop-in sessions with the TQARO/Project team for additional support.
You can find Akari user guides here with 'Resource Approver' specific guidance within each of the programme and course proposal sections. If you need any additional support please reach out to the TQARO team.

Curriculum Management Project Vision:
The Curriculum Management project aims to establish a reliable system that serves as the central data source for LSE’s course and programme information, ensuring fair and efficient interactions for staff, students, and applicants.
Key objectives include:
* Consistency and Accessibility: All users receive uniform course and programme content, regardless of how they access the information.
* Staff Empowerment: Staff responsible for curriculum management will have the necessary skills and ongoing support to effectively use the system.
* Master Data Source: The system will act as the authoritative source for all course and programme information.
* Supplier Support: The supplier offers a clear roadmap for improvements, providing regular upgrades and supporting an active HE sector user group
* Efficiency and Collaboration: The system will minimise manual processes, support collaborative work, and be fit-for-purpose for programme leaders managing offerings.
* Adaptability: The system will be flexible enough to accommodate changes within the School and the broader higher education landscape.
* Market Insight: It will enable earlier identification of potential new programmes and market opportunities.
* Compliance: The system will adhere to HESA standards and current legal frameworks, including data protection, privacy, and equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles.
* Strategic Alignment: The curriculum management system will support LSE’s strategic goals outlined in LSE 2030 and the Educate for Global Impact initiative, enhancing assessment and feedback mechanisms.
This project will ultimately foster a more streamlined and effective approach to curriculum management at LSE, benefiting all stakeholders involved.
