Applications Day

Saturday 4 October 2025, 10am to 3pm

What is Applications Day?

Applications Day is LSE Careers’ flagship event designed to help you craft standout applications and confidently navigate the job market. Whether you're just starting out or have some experience in making applications, this day is packed with practical tools and expert advice.

Watch the video below for a quick overview of what to expect at Applications Day and how to make the most of the day.

What sessions can I attend?

Across the day, you can book onto a range of different sessions, at a range of different levels, to help you get the most out of your job applications.

Topics being covered this year include:

  • How to write effective CVs
  • How to write cover letters and application forms
  • How to prepare for psychometric assessments
  • How to prepare for employer numeracy tests
  • Using LinkedIn in your job search
  • How to prepare for video interviews
  • Key application tips and Ask Me Anything sessions
  • Working in the UK during your studies (additional online session after the main event)

How can I sign up?

As there are limited spaces in each session, you will need to sign up for each individual session you would like to attend.

Please note that some sessions are tailored for different experience levels – from first-time applicants to seasoned job seekers – so make sure you check the event descriptions before booking your place.

Bookings for Applications Day 2025 will open on Monday 22 September 2025. Once bookings are live, the session links will be added to this page so you can explore what's on and book onto your chosen sessions.

What students say about Applications Day

“The session I attended was very thorough, covering both the purpose of a cover letter and application form, and an in depth explanation of how to write each of them. I felt more confident and reassured afterwards about my own capabilities – it has given me confidence to apply at places I would like to work!”

“Since attending Applications Day, I am clearer about my searching direction and what to do next."

"Applications Day was a good starting point that provided lots of information that I can eventually build on in more detail with the support of the LSE Careers team.”
