Support with marketing your society's event or activities

The Communications and Content team at LSE Careers looks after LSE Careers’ webpages, blog, social media channels and email newsletters.

We can support you to promote your event in several ways, depending on how much of the event planning LSE Careers has been involved with.

If you have created the event in collaboration with LSE Careers (ie, LSE Careers colleagues have worked with you to specifically create the content of the session itself), LSE Careers can support you with marketing the event in the following ways:

  • Cobranding on marketing materials, ie, the LSE Careers logo alongside the LSESU logo.
  • Promotion of the event on LSE Careers’ social media channels, such as Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X, as relevant.
  • Featuring the event in the LSE Careers student newsletter.

If your event has a careers angle and is for students or alumni, but LSE Careers hasn’t been involved in planning the event, we can:

  • Share a post from your society Instagram account to the @lsecareers Instagram story.

Please note that if LSE Careers has not been involved in planning the event and its content, we cannot post about the event directly on LSE Careers channels. You should also not use the LSE Careers logo unless it has been approved by the LSE Careers Communications and Content team.

If you are collaborating with LSE Careers on an event or have any questions about what marketing support LSE Careers can offer, please email us.

Top tips for marketing your event:

  • Give at least two weeks’ notice to anybody you’re hoping will help market your event. Please allow longer if it is a collaborative event and you’d like support from LSE Careers with design work for the event (ideally at least two weeks before you want to start promoting the event).
  • Share any cobranded materials with whoever you’re cobranding with to check any content / materials you’ve produced meets the cobrander’s visual guidelines (eg, the LSE logo can only be used in specific ways, so LSE Careers needs to approve marketing materials before they’re published).
  • Collaborating with another society can be a good way to expand your audience reach.
  • Add your collaborator as a ‘collaborator’ on your Instagram post to reach both sets of followers with a single post.
  • Make sure you upload your event to CareerHub for maximum visibility.
