LSE’s Digital Support Fund is a fund administered by the Financial Support Office to help students facing financial need with the associated costs of online learning and study.
LSE is committed to ensuring that none of our students are disadvantaged in accessing their online teaching, learning and assessment during this academic year.
This Digital Support Fund can provide financial support for students to cover the costs of a laptop/IT hardware required for their course of study but who do not have the funds available to cover the costs of the equipment.
Awards of up to £500 per student are available to contribute towards buying a laptop and or other technical equipment (such as a mouse, keyboard, extra monitor, router, dongle etc.) or for paying broadband bills. The funding is available for undergraduate, taught graduate and research students.
Students will be asked to complete the In Course Financial Support Form outlining the support they need, including evidence of their financial need and submit the form to the Financial Support Office along with the relevant supporting documentation.
Please note that by submitting an In-course Financial Support application form, the Financial Support Office can also consider you for any other funding that you may be eligible for at the same time.
This funding is assessed using the In-Course Financial Support form. Guidance on how to complete the form is included in the PDF.
Please complete the form electronically and submit it by email to email@example.com along with your supporting documentation.
Awards are made throughout the academic session; there is no fixed deadline to apply.
Once you have submitted the completed application form with any relevant supporting documentation you should expect to receive a decision within ten working days.
The Data and Technology Services (DTS) team is operating a laptop loan service which allows students to borrow devices on a short-term basis.
Please see the DTS pages for further information.
