1. Enquirers should first register with HEDD at www.hedd.ac.uk.
2. Select ‘London School of Economics’ from the list of UK higher education institutions and choose the 'verify a degree award' option.
3. Log in to HEDD and submit the details you wish to verify:

• name
• date of birth
• degree programme title
• level of award
• year of graduation
• degree classification
• dates of attendance (if required)

There is a charge of £14 per enquiry plus VAT where appropriate.

If the information provided matches that held in the dataset, HEDD will automatically verify the information.

If the information cannot be automatically verified (for example if the award has a provisional classification), HEDD will investigate the request manually and provide a response within five working days.

In response to the UCU marking and assessment boycott some awards issued in summer 2023 carry provisional classifications. 

Students who receieved these awards have been issued with a Digital Award Document, an interim academic transcript and an explanatory letter. 

These awards can be verified through HEDD, in the normal way. However, they will require manual intervention so the response will not be immediate. Verification should still be complete within the normal five working day response time.
