The Library covers the social sciences in the widest sense and offers exceptional online content alongside the traditional print resources. It is a superb study environment, with over 2000 seats including 500 networked PCs and wireless access, iRoam macbooks available for loan, several group study rooms and different zones for group and silent work. The 'Escape' area in the Library entrance allows students to take a break from their studies, relax with friends and have something to eat. Students can bring drinks into the Library to enjoy as they study.

LSE Careers is here to help guide you through the careers maze with a comprehensive range of careers and employment services. We can help at every stage of your career planning, from thinking about your career for the first time to applying for jobs and speaking to employers you want to work for.

We cater our services to match LSE student makeup, keeping undergraduates and postgraduates in mind as well as UK and international students, people with previous job experience, and those looking to change careers. And no matter where you want to work, we can support you. We also have bespoke services for students with disabilities and PhD students.

The LSE Volunteer Centre is here to help LSE students find a volunteering opportunity at a charity during their time studying at LSE. We work with over 400 charities a year to promote a range of volunteering opportunities for students to get involved in whether they have one hour or two days a week to spare. Students can browse these on LSE CareerHub.

We can offer a wealth of advice on volunteering in London and internationally and how you can make the best use of your opportunities to make a difference in the world and help gain new skills for your future careers. We do this through our website, blog, 1-1 appointments and volunteering fairs. Read our annual brochure for inspiration on what other students have done.

The Language Centre reflects the specialist nature of the School itself, namely, a world class institution where the quality of teaching and research is paramount. LSE is not just a multi-national university but also a multi-lingual one. The Language Centre provides language courses, language support and services to LSE undergraduate students, post-graduate students, research students, LSE alumni, LSE staff and external students. The Reception is on the Ground Floor of 20 Kingsway.

The Digital Skills Lab is here to help you develop the digital skills you need to achieve your personal, professional and academic goals. We offer free, hands-on practical workshops and self-study resources. Whether you want to improve your Excel skills, learn to code or create data visualisations there is a resource for you.

Visit the Student Services Centre (SSC) to access a range of services and advice, including admissions, registration, fees, financial support, course choice, exams, results and graduation.

We bring together two key student facing services: the Disability and Wellbeing Service (DWS) and Student Counselling Service (SCS). It works to provide a single integrated approach to help students who may need assistance with any concerns relating to counselling, disability and mental health, and provides a confidential and expert service to help students depending on their individual needs. SWS also leads a wider initiative to more generally improve student wellbeing across the School. 

The LSE Course is LSE's flagship interdisciplinary course for undergraduate students. It is designed to broaden and deepen students' engagement with social scientific analysis by using pressing social issues as case studies for exploration of the ways different theories, methods and evidence can shape our understanding of events and phenomena. LSE100 brings you into the heart of the LSE tradition of engaging with big questions, with lectures by leading researchers and small, interactive classes that challenge you to confront different kinds of evidence, assess competing explanations for social phenomena, and decide which of these are most compelling.

Every student at LSE is automatically a member of the Students’ Union. The LSE Students' Union represents all LSE students, working to make our time at LSE the best it can be. Through our societies, clubs, campaigns, Advice Centre and the activities of our Officers, we aim to represent, promote, support and protect the interests of all LSE students. We cover just about every area of student life beyond actual studying, through our societies, sports clubs and student run campaigns.

Our elected officers ensure students’ interests are at the forefront of the School’s agenda, and we also offer an Advice Service for all students. We do not makes profits and are run by students, for students. Everyone has the right to—and should!-- get involved in the Union through joining one of our 200+ sports clubs and societies, running and voting in elections for student representatives, participating at our weekly Union General Meeting (UGM), working part-time for us, volunteering to raise money with RAG (Raising and Giving, producing and reporting through the Media Group, or just making use of the Union's services.
