I have been part of the Academic Learning Development team at LSE LIFE since 2022, and before that I taught English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at the LSE’s Language Centre. The workshops I teach tend to be mostly focused on developing students’ academic writing skills. I have previously taught English in Istanbul and in a university in Naples, Italy.
My Masters’ degree was in International Relations and for my doctoral studies in UCL I undertook an in-depth qualitative study into the experiences of displaced PhD students and post-doctoral fellows from Türkiye and Syria in UK higher education institutions. My research interests include academic identity in higher education, academic writing, and the impact of migration on transnational identity.
