I am a Learning Developer in LSE LIFE, and before that I taught English for Academic Purposes (EAP) in the LSE Language Centre. EAP involves teaching academic skills as well as English language, so it is a good match with LSE LIFE. I have been teaching for over 20 years in Poland, Turkey, the US and the UK. I have taught at five different universities in three different countries, which has given me a good understanding of how academia works. I love my job, especially because I get to meet a lot of interesting people from all over the world and talk about their academic interests.
My academic background is quite diverse. I studied Journalism and English Literature as an undergraduate in South Africa, then did a master’s in teaching languages in the US, and then a doctorate in Education in the UK, so I know what it’s like to be an international student!
In my free time, I enjoy horse-riding, hiking and yoga, and I really like socialising with my friends. I also ski very badly.
