There is much more to studying at University than pursuing an academic degree! LSE offers a wide range of experiences, not least because of its location in central London. It is worth taking advantage of these: Go out and explore, learn or try something new, connect with others and have some fun!
LSE LIFE, the LSESU and ResLife all offer events and trips to explore London together with others. Many of these are entirely free and they range from theatre and museum visits to walking tours and pub crawls: There really is something for everyone. You also have access to some unique events hosted on the LSE campus itself. Do keep an eye out for the various research seminars and public lectures with internationally renowned guest speakers happening throughout the year.
Think about how you connect
- How do you usually meet people — through shared interests, study, sport, chance, someone introducing you?
- What does a good day in London look like to you?
- With a free evening, what's your instinct — go out, stay in, plan something, see who's around?
- Which part of LSE life have you not made time for yet — events, societies, or just wandering the city?
Reflect on what you've explored
- What's the best thing you've done in London that you didn't expect to enjoy?
- Who have you met at LSE that you're glad you did, and how did it happen?
- When did you last try something new? How did it go?
- What's one experience this term you'd tell a friend back home about?
