Learn more about how to choose your LSE100 theme
During online pre-enrolment, incoming students must select one of three themes to focus on during LSE100. Each of these themes foregrounds a contemporary complex and pressing question facing social scientists.
We encourage all students to choose a theme that excites them or one they are curious to learn more about. As a unique part of undergraduate study at LSE, LSE100 gives students the chance to take risks and explore ideas beyond the boundaries of their degree programme.

LSE undergraduate offer holders will receive more information from the School about selecting an LSE100 theme prior to the start of online pre-enrolment.
Ask the LSE100 Co-Directors Sessions
Dr Jillian Terry and Dr Chris Blunt, the LSE100 Co-Directors, host a series of online sessions prior to the beginning of each academic year to answer incoming first-year undergraduates' questions about LSE100 and offer advice on choosing their LSE100 theme.
This year's Ask the LSE100 Co-Directors sessions took place on Zoom in late August and early September 2026.
