About me

I received my PhD in International Relations from the LSE in 2019. My research explores ‘the politics of numbers’ and knowledge production with respect the study of Arab public opinion. In my thesis, I traced the history and development of an opinion polling industry fixated on measuring political attitudes in the Middle East and North Africa, and analysed this in the context of global issues like colonialism, the Cold War, American foreign policy, and the Arab uprisings. Prior to the PhD, I completed an MA in Political Science at the University of Windsor and an iBBA in International Business at the Schulich School of Business (Toronto). I have spent time working in digital analytics at Critical Mass and Ipsos ASI, and have trained in a diverse range of research methods. My research interests also include gender and pedagogy, the securitisation of migration, and big data. I have helped to integrate Tableau data visualisation training into LSE100, and look forward to teaching in the spirit of interdisciplinarity.
