Have you graduated but would you like to start volunteering? We’ve set out several ways in which you can get involved below. If you are not sure where to start, our FAQ will help you think of some of the questions that you’ll need to think of when looking to volunteer.

 

Volunteer at a charity in the UK

If you have graduated up to 5 years ago you can search LSE CareerHub for volunteering roles in the UK and overseas and you can also book a (Skype) appointment if you need support finding a role. Otherwise you might want to have a look at the following websites for voluntary roles:

Volunteer online

Are you looking for a more flexible volunteering role which you can do from anywhere in the world? Then online volunteering might be right for you. You can find more information on our webpage and the following links can be useful:

Become a trustee or school governor

If you’re looking for a skilled volunteering role you could consider becoming a trustee or school governor. You can find more information on becoming a school governor with the following organisations for opportunities in the UK: 

Volunteer outside of the UK // International Development volunteering

If you’re interested in international development you could consider volunteering overseas. This generally takes more preparation and we advise you to read into how to find an ethical opportunity on our overseas volunteering webpage or find more information on our blog.

Give your time to support the LSE community in or outside of the UK

There are lots of different ways in which you can support the LSE Community. We’ve listed a couple of them below and you can register your interest by filling in this form.

  • Help LSE Careers out, by speaking at a panel, come along to network event or write a blog about your experiences. You can express your interest on this form.
  • Help out at an Open Day
  • Write a blog about your volunteering experience. Get in touch with the Volunteer Centre team if you’re interested in doing this.
  • Join the committee of one of the LSE alumni country or special interest groups or come along to their events. You can find more information on the LSE alumni website.
