Introduction
Whether you are an undergraduate or postgraduate, whether you have two hours to spare every Wednesday or are looking for one-off opportunities, volunteering could be for you. In fact in our latest research over 90% of student who volunteer say they would recommend volunteering to a friend and over 70% say it improved their LSE experience.
What are the benefits?
Volunteering is about giving something back to the community and helping others, but it's a great way to help yourself too. You can:
- make a difference to the local community
- get insight into an area of work you are interested in – having some volunteer experience in your sector of interest will make you shine above others
- learn new skills and put your existing ones to good use
- network
- make new friends
- get to know your local community
- have fun.
Refer to the Volunteer Centre blog and read our annual brochure for inspirational stories of what other LSE students and alumni have achieved with their volunteering.
