Extra guest ticket requests

Find out the options available if you have more than two guests coming to graduation

Graduation ceremony tickets are free of charge. Normally, if you book your place before the booking deadline you will receive up to two guest tickets.

Extra guest tickets, beyond two per graduand, are not likely to be available. However, if they are available, they are allocated in the order we receive the waiting list requests. Please see 'Requesting Extra Guest Tickets' below for more information and for the link to sign up to the waiting list. On the day, un-used guest tickets from people who have not arrived are reallocated through the returns queue.

Please note that neither graduand nor guest tickets are transferable and that only guests of graduands participating in the ceremony are able to attend.

Requesting Extra Guest Tickets

Extra tickets for graduation are not often available. Nearer to the ceremonies, extra tickets may become available as graduates/guests cancel tickets.

As such, graduates can sign up to an extra guest ticket waiting list. Extra guest tickets will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis, in accordance with the extra guest ticket waiting list, in the order we receive requests, as and when any additional tickets become available. This could be at any time between the waiting list open date and the ceremonies.

Extra tickets are not guaranteed. Graduates will be contacted on a case-by-case basis, should we be able to allocate extra tickets.

We will not accept any requests for extra tickets received via email.

The extra ticket waiting list for the July 2024 graduation ceremonies is now open. To request extra guest tickets, please click on the link below and complete the form:

Requesting Extra Tickets on the Day of the Ceremony
The Returns Queue

On the day, last minute returned tickets and uncollected tickets will be given out to those in the return ticket queue.

The return ticket queue will open two hours before the ceremony is due to begin.

At 15 minutes before the ceremony is due to begin, any available tickets will be given out to those in the return ticket queue. Extra guests should then make their way to the Peacock Theatre. Each person in the queue can collect up to two tickets subject to availability.

The tickets given out to the returns queue are tickets for people that have not arrived for their ceremony. As such we cannot make any predictions as to their availability.

Because tickets have to be given out so close to the start of the ceremony it is important that the guest needing the ticket waits in the queue, not the graduand or guest who already have tickets. Guests in the queue do not need to have any ID to collect tickets.

If you have any questions on the day, please ask at the ticket collection desk.

Tickets for children

All children aged over 24 months must have their own seat if attending the ceremony.

Children that are under 24 months and do not have a ticket will be expected to sit on the knee of their carer.

All children must be accompanied by an adult guest. They cannot sit next to the graduand.

Special seating arrangements

Please log any special seating requirements (e.g. for visual impairments or mobility issues) on the booking form.

Alternatively, you can submit an enquiry.

We can usually accommodate specific arrangements provided that we receive sufficient notice.

We are not usually able to accommodate requests made at the last minute because seats have already been allocated at this stage.

Cancellations

If you wish to change or cancel your booking, please submit an enquiry  as soon as possible, so that your tickets can be re-allocated to those on the waiting list.
