Provisional Marks

Interpreting the information

Provisional marks have not been confirmed by the relevant Exam Board and thus may change.

These pages are designed to help you understand the status of provisional marks and what the numbers, letters and symbols mean.

Specific provisional and final results release dates for each year are on the Publication of Results web page. 

Click on the link below to visit the relevant page for guidance relevant to the results you have received. 

  • Provisonal marks in March
    Marks for in-person January exams, taken by non-RDAP students (i.e. excluding people due final results in March) and any other Autumn Term assessment marks that are ready for publication.
  • Provisional marks in July
    BA, BSc, LLB, General Course and GO LSE students due final results in mid-July
  • Provisional marks in August
    Postgraduates on 12 month (and similar) programmes due final results in mid-November.

    Remember, the Student Services Centre cannot accept responsibility for any issues arising from changes to provisional marks. It is not  possible for the Student Services Centre to discuss provisional marks. You cannot appeal against provisional marks or request an administrative mark check for them.
