Priority appointments for sexual violence or harassment

If you have experienced sexual harassment or sexual violence as a student, you can book a priority counselling appointment with us.

To book, please email student.counselling@lse.ac.uk with the subject line 'Priority SVSH'.

We will aim to arrange an appointment as soon as possible. We can offer female and male counsellors and mental health advisers, who are experienced in supporting students after an incident of sexual violence or sexual harassment.

If you require more urgent help, please email student.counselling@lse.ac.uk or call +44 (0)20 7852 3627. If you need urgent help on campus or in a hall of residence, please call LSE Security on 020 3486 2882, who are trained and able to help with serious incidents involving sexual violence. Security is available 24 hours a day.

Reporting the incident and getting further support

We understand the decision to report sexual assault or violence is personal and LSE has support mechanisms in place to ensure you are supported through the process. If you are thinking about or wish to report any violence you have experienced, or witnessed, you can do so in two ways:

1. You can first speak to a Safe Contact

A Safe Contact is a member of LSE staff who has received training and can offer a confidential 'signposting' service for students who have previously or are currently experiencing some form of bullying, harassment or sexual violence. They will be able to listen to you, refer you to other services and help you decide if you would like to report your experience to LSE.

2. Make a report via Report + Support

You can also report to LSE directly by using our Report + Support system. This will help the School understand what has happened, what action may be required and, unless you have made an anonymous report, what support we can offer you.

The report can be completely anonymous, but sharing your name and contact details will make it easier for LSE to contact you and offer you further support and information about the response.

Any decisions regarding the way you wish to proceed will be fully respected. We are here to listen and support you.
