Registering with a Visa Application in Process

You can only be fully registered once your visa has been granted and you have brought it into the Student Services Centre

It is possible to register at LSE whilst your application for a Tier 4 visa is been processed providing you can legally make the switch from your current visa to a Tier 4 whilst in the UK.

You will be registered on a temporary basis until your visa is granted. Once you receive your new Biomentric Residence Permit you must bring it to the Student Services Centre to be scanned. Once it has been scanned and added to your record you will be fully registered.

What to bring

You will need to bring the following documents with you to registration

  • Your pre-registration pass
  • The application coversheet from your Tier 4 visa application
  • Your passport (if you have not sent it to the Home Office). If you have sent your passport to the Home Office then you will need to bring a photocopy of the details page and another form of original ID (such as a driving licence).
  • Your current visa  (if you have not sent it to the Home Office). If you have sent your visa to the Home Office then you will need to bring a photocopy. If your previous visa was on a BRP we need copies of both sides. We need to see your current visa so that we know you are in a position to switch to a Tier 4 whilst in the UK.
  • You will also be given a declaration to sign. By signing you are agreeing that you know of no reason why your visa application may be refused.

Next Steps

If you have a visa application in process you will be registered on a temporary basis until your visa is granted.

Once you receive your new Biomentric Residence Permit you must bring it to the Student Services Centre to be scanned. Once it has been scanned and added to your record you will be fully registered.

During Welcome we have special sessions for you to get your documents scanned. During the rest of the year you can come any time between 11am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
