Your IRDAP results email

IRDAP 2023

Marks and grades in the final results email have been ratified by the relevant Exam Board.

Most IRDAP emails were sent to students on Tuesday 19 September 2023. Some students may receive emails after this if their marks were previously delayed by the Marking and Assessment boycott.

BA and BSc programmes

IRDAP marks replace marks from the academic year

If you took an assessment during IRDAP then this mark will appear instead of the mark from the academic year. For example:

  • If you deferred a piece of coursework from the 2022/23 academic year to IRDAP then just the mark from IRDAP will show.
  • If you achieved a mark of 5 in an exam in January 2023 then resat the exam in IRDAP and achieved a mark of 70, only the 70 will show.

Assessment marks with an asterisk(*)

If an asterisk(*) shows against an assessment this means either

  • You have a confirmed deferral in place for that assessment.
  • You were not able to take the assessment during IRDAP because the mark was returned too late (as a result of the marking and assessment boycott).

Course Grades

Grades show against courses. You can interpret them using the list below:

1 = First class [70-100%]
2A = Upper Second class [60-69%]
2B = Lower Second class [50-59%]
3 = Third [40-49%]
F = Fail [0-39%]
NA = At least one component of assessment has EITHER been deferred OR it was not possible for you to take it due to the marking and assessment boycott.
AB = Absent from all components of assessment
I = Incomplete (i.e. you were absent from at least one component of assessment)

Missing Results

If one or more assessment marks have been delayed by the marking and assessment boycott the course will not show on your final results email at all. If a course is missing from the table then at least one mark from that course has been delayed. We are unable to give further detail about missing marks at this stage. Please check publication of results for more information about what will happen next.

Assessment Grades

The grade listed against the course title, in bold, is the overall grade for the assessment(s) you took in that course. You can interpret them using the list below:

A+ = 75%+
A = 70% - 74%
A- = 65% - 69%
B+ = 60% - 64%
B = 55% - 59%
B- 50% - 54%
C+ = 45% - 49%
C = 40% - 44%
F = Fail, 0% - 39%
NA = At least one component of assessment has EITHER been deferred OR it was not possible for you to take it due to the marking and assessment boycott.
AB = Absent from all components of assessment
I = Incomplete (i.e. you were absent from at least one component of assessment)

Class Grades

There will not be any new class grades on your IRDAP results email, the class grades will be the same as you received in July.

Class grades show at the bottom of the list of assessments for a given course. There is no numerical mark for class grades, just a letter grade. You can interpret them using the list below:

A+ = 75%+
A = 70% - 74%
A- = 65% - 69%
B+ = 60% - 64%
B = 55% - 59%
B- 50% - 54%
C+ = 45% - 49%
C = 40% - 44%
F = Fail, 0% - 39%

All class grades have been received but if the assessment grade is missing for a course (either from July or IRDAP) then the final results email will also not show your class grade. We sent all class grades out as a seperate email in July.

Missing Results

If one or more assessment marks have been delayed by the marking and assessment boycott the course will not show on your final results email at all. If a course is missing from the table then at least one mark from that course has been delayed. We are unable to give further detail about missing marks at this stage.
