Living in halls

Your hall is a great place to get involved in sustainability at LSE, and there are a number of ways you can help to reduce the environmental impact of your halls.

Reduce the juice

Reduce the Juice

This year all LSE managed Halls of Residence are taking part in Reduce the Juice: Connect which aims to reduce energy and water consumption, and to improve recycling rates.

  • Sign up to become a Sustainability Ambassador and help your halls win £250!

Green Impact

Halls are competing to implement sustainable actions and achieve either a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum award for their work.

ReLove is a reuse program to give a home to unwanted items (books, crockery, clothes etc.) donated by students moving out of halls at the end of the academic year.

  • Every year around 8-9 tonnes of unwanted items are donated, most to the British Heart Foundation (duvets are collected by London Re-use).
  • Food items in the Northern halls (Rosebery, Passfield and Carr-Saunders) are collected by the LSESU FoodCycle Society.
    • Contact your Hall Manager for more information.
