Your hall is a great place to get involved in sustainability at LSE, and there are a number of ways you can help to reduce the environmental impact of your halls.

#SustainableLSE halls campaign in partnership with SOS-UK

This year all LSE managed Halls are taking part in #SustainableLSE halls campaign which aims to reduce energy and water consumption, and to improve recycling rates. Highlights in 2021-22 included:

  • 338 students engaged in the campaign, with 87% saying they know more about how everyday actions contribute to the climate crisis.
  • 29 Tonnes of CO2 saved this year VS 2019-20 baseline (5.8% reduction).
  • 20 halls staff wardens and front of house staff were also trained to increase awareness of, and support for the campaign.

Green Impact

Halls are competing to implement sustainable actions and achieve either a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum award for their work.

ReLove

ReLove is a reuse program to give a home to unwanted items (books, crockery, clothes etc.) donated by students moving out of halls at the end of the academic year.
