#SustainableLSE halls campaign in partnership with SOS-UK
For the second year, all LSE managed Halls took part in the #SustainableLSE Halls campaign. The programme aims to reduce energy and water consumption, improve recycling rates, and engage students and staff with the need to do so.
Highlights in 2022-23 included:
- 398 students engaged in the campaign (19.4% of total residents), with 87% claiming they now know more about how everyday actions contribute to the climate crisis and how to drive change.
- 62 Tonnes of CO2 saved this year vs baseline data - that’s around 4,160 average London bus journeys and £40,536 saved in energy costs.
- 9 students were also trained as campaign volunteers, to increase awareness of, and support for the campaign.
- Congratulations to Bankside Hall for winning this year's competition!
