Upcoming ceremonies

Ceremony dates for the Winter and Summer graduation ceremonies

Graduation ceremonies are held three times a year:


  • July for students who have followed undergraduate or nine-month taught postgraduate degree programmes
  • August for students who want to attend a ceremony in Beijing
  • December for students who have followed twelve-month taught postgraduate degree programmes

MPhil/PhD research students are presented at both the July and December ceremonies (please see below for further information)

 

Dates of upcoming ceremonies

  • August 2019 (Beijing): 
     13 August 2019                                       
  • December 2019 (London):
    16, 17, 18 and 19 December 2019
  • July 2020 (London):
    22, 23, and 24 July 2020

Department schedule

Departments will be allocated specific days/times shortly after bookings close. This is usually around early March for the summer ceremonies and mid September for the winter ceremonies.

Once finalised, a link to the schedule will be posted on this web page.

Research students

MPhil/ PhD research students must be awarded by 30 April to be invited to the July ceremonies, and 30 September to be invited to the December ceremonies.

Postponing your ceremony

Normally, if you are due to attend a ceremony in July you can postpone to the following July. This is to ensure that you attend a ceremony where your programme is represented. 

Normally, if you are due to attend a ceremony in December you can postpone to the following December. This is to ensure that you attend a ceremony where you pogramme is represented.

However, if you are a PhD student or taking the Executive LLM you can postpone to the following July or December because these programmes are represented at both sets of ceremonies.

You can only postpone your ceremony once.
