Upcoming ceremonies

Ceremony dates for the Winter and Summer graduation ceremonies

Graduation ceremonies are held three times a year:

  • July for students who have followed undergraduate or nine-month taught postgraduate degree programmes
  • December for students who have followed twelve-month taught postgraduate degree programmes
  • Unfortunately there will be no ceremony taking place in Beijing in August 2024. Please check next year for information about future ceremonies.

MPhil/PhD research students are presented at both the July and December ceremonies (please see below for further information).

Department schedule

Departments will be allocated specific days/times shortly after bookings close. This is usually around March for the summer ceremonies and mid September for the winter ceremonies.

Once finalised, a link to the schedule will be posted on this web page.

Research students

MPhil/PhD research students must be awarded by 30 April to be invited to the July ceremonies, and 30 September to be invited to the December ceremonies.

For queries related to the awarding of MPhil/PhD degrees, please contact the PhD Academy. MPhil/PhD research students cannot be invited to graduation until the awarding of their degree is processed.

Finalists in IRDAP or RDAP

Finalists that sit assessments in IRDAP (undergraduate) or RDAP (graduate) will be invited to the next appropriate ceremony where their programme is presented.

For undergraduate and 9/10 month master students you would be invited to the next July ceremony. For 12 month master students you would be invited to the next December ceremony.
