Support and wellbeing

PhD Academy staff are keen to resolve the problems you present to us as soon as possible on campus or via email, telephone or even Skype.

We have an open door policy during office hours: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

The team can be found in the office to the left of the main door as you enter the PhD Academy on the 4th floor of the Lionel Robbins building (see maps and directions). If you have any queries, concerns or doubts please feel free to come in and talk to us.

If you can't visit in person

If you are studying away from LSE, or it is not convenient for you to come in to visit us, we can deal with queries and problems over email or on the telephone. We can also arrange to have a meeting by Skype if appropriate.

When you conact us we will aim to:

  • resolve the issue for you on the spot, or
  • refer you to another colleague in the PhD Academy who has specialist knowledge of the query raised, or
  • identify the person you need to contact outside of the PhD Academy

The PhD Academy has been designed with student consultations in mind. We have sofas in the general office where we can talk to you in comfort or, if the matter is confidential, we have two small meeting rooms where you can discuss more sensitive issues with us.

For more information about our aims and objectives as a service provider, see the PhD Academy Statement of Service Level [PDF].
