Your careers service

Your careers service is here to support and work with you throughout your LSE journey.

We’re here to work with you wherever you are in your career thinking - even if you’re not sure what to do or where to start. We do this in a number of ways, from providing you with up-to-date information and resources to connecting you with employers and alumni  through events and workshops, to one-to-one appointments with careers consultants, we're here to equip you with the tools you'll need both now and in the future. Throughout your time at LSE we'll empower you to discover more about yourself and your motivations, explore your options, develop your skills and experience and, when you're ready to, put your plan into action.

During Michaelmas Term, we have decided to deliver the majority of our services online and will be offering a comprehensive programme of virtual appointments, events and webinars.

By working with you in this way, we’ll be able to best prepare you for a new way of interacting with employers, organisations and alumni. Many recruiters have been assessing and interviewing remotely over the past six months and this is set to continue into the future. We want to ensure you have access to the tools to successfully navigate the recruitment landscape both virtual and face-to-face.

Our virtual service offers you a series of activities available no matter where you are in the world, as well as connects you with the insight and experiences of internationally-based alumni, employers and organisations. By delivering online, we can offer you greater flexibility in accessing our services.

We are regularly reviewing our situation to see what is possible within the School’s guidelines, and in the future, as restrictions ease, we hope to deliver a programme which involves a balanced mix of face-to-face and online activities.

Communications

If you have a question, we will be available on email and CareerHub throughout the week, and you’ll receive tailored weekly newsletters from us providing insight and information on events, programmes, resources and opportunities which may be of interest to you based on your career readiness.

Information and resources

Working with you – wherever you are in your career planning – also means providing reliable and up-to-date information, advice and resources and our website is the best place to start to find these. We hope our content will empower and help you develop a deeper understanding of your motivations and aspirations, explore sectors and industries that interest you, search for opportunities, and apply and interview for roles.

Events

Throughout Michaelmas Term, you’ll discover our varied virtual events programme, where you’ll hear from alumni and employers operating in a range of roles, sectors and have the opportunity to develop personal and professional skills that you can use during your time at LSE and beyond. Many of our webinars, panels and skills sessions are recorded and available on CareerHub for you to access on your own time.

Appointments

You can book an appointment with us whatever stage you’re at in your career planning. Our careers consultants can discuss a range of topics with you, including your career options, applications and CV and job search.
