 Results and information about our annual student accommodation satisfaction survey

Each Lent Term, we run a survey to ask student residents what they think about living in halls. The feedback helps us to shape and improve our services.

Accommodation satisfaction survey 2019

Key results

  • 59 per cent response rate (up 4 percentage points on last year)
  • Bankside House achieved the most improved participation rate
  • 90 per cent of residents are enjoying their stay in residences (down by one percentage point on previous year)
  • 79 per cent of residents felt that their residence offers good value for money (same as previous year)
  • 85 per cent of residents would recommend their residence to other LSE students (down by two percentage points on previous year)

 

Results of previous surveys

Accommodation satisfaction survey 2018

  • Response rate: 55 per cent
  • Rosebery Hall won the prize for achieving the most improved participation rate
  • 91 per cent of residents are enjoying their stay in residences (up by 1.2 percentage points on previous year)
  • 87 per cent of residents would recommend their residence to other LSE students (up by two percentage points on previous year)
  • 79 per cent of residents felt that their residence offers good value for money (down by one percentage point from previous year)

 Key results and hall-by-hall analysis

  • Response rate: 53 per cent
  • Butler’s Wharf Residence won the prize for achieving the most improved participation rate.
  • 90 per cent of residents are enjoying their stay in residences (the same as in 2016)
  • 85 per cent of residents would recommend their residence to other LSE students (up from 83 per cent in 2016)
  • 80 per cent of residents felt that their residence offers good value for money (up from 75 per cent in 2016)

  • Response rate: 58.97 per cent
  • Carr-Saunders Hall and Passfield Hall both won the prize for achieving the highest survey participation. Both achieved a record breaking 100 per cent participation.
  • 83 per cent of residents would recommend their residence to other LSE students
  • 75 per cent of residents felt that their residence offers good value for money
  • 90 per cent of residents are enjoying their stay in residences
